Typing Indicator

With the "Typing Indicator" feature, both the visitor and the agent know when the other is typing a message.

Benefits

  • Show patience to customers - hold while they type
  • Keep customers aware of your assistance while you are typing long messages
  • Decrease chat abandonment - customer recognizes immediate service

Implementation

To enable "Typing Indicator", click on:

Admin > Messages > Typing Indicator

Enable the typing indicator on the visitor and/or the agent side.

You can customize the message and the color of the font displayed in the chat window.

You can even customize the font type by using HTML tags in the message field. For example:

<font size="1" face="Arial">Agent is typing a message</font>

Important Note

To take advantage of the "Typing Indicator" feature, you will need to run Version 6.0 of the client software. Follow these simple steps to update your client software:

  • Open up the LivePerson client software
  • Click on 'LivePerson' in the top menu, 
  • Select 'Update LivePerson'
  • Follow the instructions in the installation Wizard.
